Janaway Travel first opened its doors on 6 June 1960  - yes, that was last century - and we’re proud of it.

Founded by Geoff Janaway and Harry Arnull on Camden High Street, the business quickly grew, becoming one of the first UK operators to offer holidays to Lisbon and the Algarve. Although our Portugal programme ended in the 1970s due to a cholera outbreak, our spirit of adventure never stopped.

For more than 60 years, Camden Town has been our home. Today, we specialise in creating truly bespoke travel experiences. We’re a small but mighty team of three - John, Jane and Joanne (affectionately known as the “three J’s”). Between us, we bring over 100 years of combined travel industry experience. We’ve travelled extensively, we know our destinations inside out and we pride ourselves on offering honest, thoughtful advice.

It’s not unusual for someone to walk in dreaming of St Lucia and leave excited about a Nile cruise. Why? Because we take the time to listen, understand what you really want from your holiday, and suggest destinations you may never have considered.

As a fully independent travel agency, we’re free to choose the best options for you — not for anyone else. From round‑the‑world itineraries to British and European train and coach tickets, we handle it all.
