Ireland - where luxury meets warmth

This week Jane had the pleasure of being invited to a Tourism Ireland event and she was astounded. The range of wonderful hotels, unique experiences and genuine hospitality showcased reminded her just how special Ireland is.  Read on to find out more:

We often dismiss visiting places that are near, because we can do that anytime.  But a trip to the Emerald Isle is not to be missed. Irish hospitality is second to none. Be prepared for a relaxing trip and when I say relaxing I mean really laid back The Irish don’t rush, they make you take your time and that’s very good for the soul.

Among the many suppliers and hoteliers I met this week were:

The Merchant Hotel

Paula Wards Ireland

Landmark Luxury

Cashel Palace Hotel

Finn Lough

Hinch Distillery

Original Irish Hotels

Galgorm Collection

The Fitzwilliam

Shenanigans Walks

Cliff Group

Sionnan Luxury Cruises

Dromoland Castle & Estate

Teeling Whiskey Distillery

Horse Country

The hotels were simply stunning, each with their own character, while the experiences on offer are almost too many to list. What struck me most is how easy it is to travel around Ireland - whether you’re staying in a five-star hotel, a lakeside bubble or dome, a chic townhouse or even a visit to a remote fisherman’s cottage perched on a cliff.

Some of the highlights to tempt any traveller include:

The Titanic Exhibition in Belfast

The Giant’s Causeway

Famous Black Taxi Tours

Food walks and culinary adventures

Whiskey and gin tastings (and even making your own!)

Baking traditional bread at Tracy’s Farmhouse

World-class golf

Jazz and music nights, plus Michelin-starred dining

Ireland truly has it all - heritage, scenery, food, luxury, and character. From castles to coastal escapes, from vibrant cities to serene countryside, stud farms meeting horse trainers the options are endless.

In fact, a few years ago we created a wonderful itinerary for a client, but after this week’s inspiration, I can see we now have so much more to add. Ireland from north to south is simply magical and I’m already planning my own tour next year.

Starting in Dublin, be sure to do the pub crawl: it's fantastic and you will learn about all the famous Irish writers. Head north to Belfast: a beautiful city and the birth place of that famous ship. Then onto the top of the isle for the Giants Causeway and all things Games of thrones and across to Derry and its walled town.

Now South bound to Shannon and Bantry Bay and further down to the Ring of Kerry, with its plants and trees of tropical nature.  Head across to Cork City, Ireland's very own Amsterdam, full of canals, bridges and the English Market. Carry on South East to Waterford and its famous glass, then to the bottom and a visit to Cobh, the very last port of the famous ship, the Titanic.

There you have Ireland - from literary Dublin to historic Cobh: all the highlights in one unforgettable journey.
