The Grecotel LUXME Dama Dama is a spacious beachfront resort that combines a relaxed atmosphere with the convenience of a short transfer from the airport, making it an appealing choice for both couples and families visiting Rhodes.
The resort offers a wide variety of spaces to relax, dine and socialise. One of the standout areas is the beach bar, where laid-back daytime music and uninterrupted sea views create an effortlessly calm setting. While the beach itself is coarse underfoot, it is exceptionally well organised, with ample sunbeds and tables available throughout the day. Jane stayed there recently, this is what she had to say:
During my stay, I stayed in Room 533 within the annex building, which offered exceptional panoramic views across the coastline. The accommodation was spacious, peaceful and comfortable, providing an ideal retreat after a day in the sun.
Dining proved to be one of the highlights of the experience. The Italian restaurant impressed with both the quality of its cuisine and attentive service, whilst the Asian restaurant was truly outstanding - elevated further by carefully selected wine pairings that complemented each course beautifully. The buffet restaurant also provided a strong variety of well-presented dishes catering to a range of tastes.
In the evenings, the lobby bar becomes the resort’s social centre, with entertainment running from approximately 8.30pm to 10.30pm. A resident DJ plays a selection of classic tracks, creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, while additional entertainment across the resort ensures there is something suitable for guests of all ages.
Service throughout the resort is consistently warm and attentive. Staff members are engaging and welcoming, contributing significantly to the hotel’s easy-going and friendly atmosphere.
Breakfast is served with an extensive selection of hot and cold options, alongside generous seating areas. The self-service coffee stations are particularly effective, helping to maintain an informal and efficient dining experience during busier periods.
The resort is especially well suited to families. The Grecotel Kids Club features both indoor and outdoor play areas, arts and crafts activities, and a sandy outdoor space beside a small family pool, making it an excellent option for those travelling with younger children.
Accommodation options are varied and thoughtfully designed to suit different styles of travel, including:
Luxury Superior Main Building rooms with open-plan bathrooms and sea views
Lux Me Sea View rooms with enclosed bathrooms
Premier Family Rooms featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms
Lux Me Bungalows and family rooms accommodating up to three guests, including loft-style maisonettes such as Room 526
Grand Family Rooms and Superior Family Apartments
For guests seeking additional privacy and comfort, private pool gazebos are available to hire. The on-site spa also offers a quieter adults-only retreat, complete with an indoor pool, soft relaxation areas and a selection of treatments.
On my final morning, I returned to the beach bar to enjoy a glass of fizz overlooking the sea, accompanied by soft background music - a fitting end to a thoroughly relaxing stay. As a solo traveller, I consistently felt comfortable, welcomed and well looked after throughout the resort.
I would happily return, particularly given the resort’s convenient location. Rhodes Town is only a short bus ride away and offers a fascinating blend of medieval history and modern Greek culture.
The Old Town of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the island’s most iconic attractions. Visitors can explore the impressive Palace of the Grand Master, wander along the historic Street of the Knights, and enjoy a growing selection of rooftop bars, cafés and restaurants within the ancient walls.
For those looking for additional nightlife and dining options, nearby Faliraki offers a more energetic atmosphere, particularly later in the evening, while still remaining easily accessible from the resort.
