Jane’s trip to Palm Beach and the beautiful Vineta, was little short of fabulous.
Palm Beach is approximately a 1-1½ hour taxi transfer from Miami International Airport, depending on traffic. My arrival was quite something -just 15 minutes from stepping off the plane to clearing passport control! Wow! I had expected at least an hour.
And then you arrive in Palm Beach…
The Vineta sits on the corner of what is often referred to as “Billionaires’ Row”, an area known for its impressive homes and high-profile residents. Once you see Palm Beach, it’s easy to understand the appeal.
Palm Beach makes a wonderful extension to a Miami stay, or indeed an alternative for those looking for something a little more relaxed. Think beautiful beaches, warm ocean waters, immaculate streets, manicured gardens, designer boutiques, wonderful restaurants and, most importantly, a lovely sense of calm.
There is also so much fascinating history here. Henry Flagler played a huge part in putting Palm Beach on the map in the late 19th century. He brought his Florida East Coast Railway to the area and built the magnificent Royal Poinciana Hotel, followed by the Palm Beach Inn - now The Breakers - helping to establish Palm Beach as one of America’s great winter destinations. He also built Whitehall, his extraordinary winter residence, which is now the Flagler Museum.
It’s amazing to walk around Palm Beach today and realise how much of what you see can be traced back to Flagler’s vision.
For me, it felt wonderfully peaceful, with beautiful little corners everywhere to sit, relax and simply enjoy your surroundings.
I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the newly refurbished The Vineta, part of the Oetker Collection, and what a hotel this is.
The Vineta has a wonderful sense of understated sophistication. Think subtle tones, soft pastel colours and beautiful little details that weave their way throughout the hotel. Nothing feels overdone - everything feels elegant, considered and effortlessly stylish.
But what really stood out to me was the staff.
They were genuinely warm and happy to share their thoughts, recommendations, favourite places and little insights into Palm Beach life. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcomed - almost as though you are staying with friends rather than checking into a hotel.
🍽️ Coco’s restaurant is something special. I thought the food was exceptional, with beautifully presented dishes and wonderful flavours. The bar is equally impressive, with a knowledgeable team who are happy to make recommendations and create something special for you.
Whether you want help choosing a drink, a perfect pairing, a cocktail created especially for you or even a mixology experience, they are there to make it happen.
There is, of course, a lovely little pool area with fabulous sunbeds and plenty of shade. Staff are always nearby, or you can simply use the call button if you fancy a glass of fizz, a coffee or something else to make your afternoon even more enjoyable.
Beside the pool is another restaurant serving delicious light bites - and the pizza is absolutely worth mentioning!
The attention to detail at The Vineta is impressive.
It is sophisticated without being stuffy, luxurious without being showy and intimate without feeling restrictive.
If I had to describe how staying here feels, I would say:
Imagine a hug and a kiss from your safe place. That’s The Vineta. ❤️
Palm Beach has completely charmed me and The Vineta feels like a lovely reflection of everything I enjoyed about it.
